Eid Mubarak 2018
Me and my wife have a pact to take turns on big family holiday such as Eid Mubarak and Eid Al-Adha: If this year we celebrate it in Bandung (my hometown), next year we’ll celebrate it in Cirebon (her hometown). This year is Cirebon’s turn. We’ll celebrate Eid Mubarak in Cirebon.
So D-6 we went from Bandung to Cirebon. These are some photographs I took during those time.
This was me and my in-laws. We were at my mother in-laws’ place and realize that this year all of us have long hairs. So we took a photo to commemorate it. We looked like a metal band or something.
What is a big holiday without a tiny bit of firework.
Eid Food! These are Cirebonese’ ketupat + opor ayam + kentang balado.
The first breakfast after a month long of fasting is always fascinating.
Kiddo at relatives’ place. There are one stark different between my family and my wife’s: her family’s houses are relatively close. The house we visited during Eid is relatively close in terms of distance. Thus, all of the visits are finished before afternoon. This is really relieving. The houses we visited in Bandung is pretty distanced and it took the whole days for us to complete the Eid visits. Consequently, Eid becomes really tiring day. In my wife’s family, it was done before we know it and we have a half day available for rest. Belissimo.
Kiddo gets his angpao. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t care about the amount it contains. He just like the cartoon character in the cover of the envelope.
Obligatory photo, because memory. It was a fun day.
