Don’t use Google Analytics’ Universal Tracking code yet unless you are okay (per May 23rd, 2013) having your in-Page Analytics fails to fetch data and shows no result.

When you create new Google Analytics’ account for your site, you’ll have an option to choose one between these tracking methods: Universal Analytics or Classic Analytics. However, you need to realize that (per May 23rd 2013) the Universal Analytics’ tracking method has a beta label on it.

Google-Analytics'-Universal-or-Classic-Tracking

Some days ago I created couple of new Google Analytics accounts and selected Universal Analytics as their tracking method. Today, me and my colleagues found that the Google Analytics accounts which used Universal Analytics could not fetched data and showed in-Page Analytics result. The ridiculous part is there’s no option to revert the tracking method from Universal to Classic analytics. We ended up creating new analytics accounts, installed it, and remove the old ones.

Lesson learned.
