There was a time when no school system existed but the society was not necessarily less educated compared to a “schooled” society which we proudly call as modern.

Such a strong statement. I don’t know about you, but I personally feel that criticism toward the schooling system rises lately. I fully agree that there’s something wrong in our conventional school system. It is not perfect. It needs to be improved. However, I think to call it completely wrong is not correct either. It has brought us so far up this point. It’s quite a journey, IMHO. It’s just the current education system is designed for industrial era which is probably served civilization (or in cynical fashion, “the stakeholder”) quite well in our parents’ generation but time is changing and our era is different.

The question is how to make education better. How to make it appropriate for our era. Not to say “this is the correct one and you are doing it wrong” thing.
